The E28 M535i
This is a very original example wearing factory paint. A high quality and correct example.
The car came to the market in 1981, in 1985 the bigger 3,4L liter models came to market - 535i and M535i. This is a DC81 model. Meaning a 218 Horsepower, high-compression 3,4 Liter mated to an Automatic transmission. This car is all original and wears 203 Lachssilber (Salmon Silver) Paint, a Marine blue pinstripe Velours Sports interior, original TRX wheels and manual Sunroof.
The original German Fahrzeugbrief comes with the car and shows the car was first owed by BMW themselves - Bayerische Motorenwerke in Munich - first registered on the 18th of January 1989. We have recently discovered this M535i in northern Germany and bought it from the last caring owner who invested a lot in this vehicle. In 2024 and 2025 several thousands of Euro's have been invested, both at the BMW dealership as well as at independent specialists. A complete new exhaust system, a new set of Michelin TRX tyres (1300 euro's), new brakes in the rear, radiator, coolant flush, tie-rod, alignment, control arms and more. When the car came to our workshop we gave it further love and have replaced hood insulation, replaced suspension components and fixed several small mechanical and cosmetical details.
The condition is amazing. A beautiful rust-free body with perfect panelgaps. Perfectly straight and wearing almost completely original paint. The undercarriage is very clean, very original and with great original clean floors. The plastic undertray is present but not pictured.
The engine-bay is beautiful as well. Very clean, very original and with all decals in the right place.
The trunk is just as original and perfect. Clean upholstery and mat. The TRX spare wheel and correct tool and jack.
The interior is beautiful and all stock. The typical E28 sportseats, here in Marine blue pinstripe velours are in beautiful condition. Clean, firm and with new gas-struts for the adjustment. A crack-free dashboard, clean carpets, and even the factory original floormats.
A lot of new parts, hours and E28 expertise went into this car - and you can notice;
The engine runs smooth, pulls hard. Very fast and very comfortable at the same time. The suspension is excellent, it hardly lean in corners. The engine is very smooth and silent. The automatic gearbox shifts lovely and the Limited Slip differential silent. The car rides on its original, M535i-specific, TRX wheels and new TRX tyres have been mounted - less then 3000 km's old.
This is a very original E28 M535i - one of the few remaining good ones. A non-restored original car in a great condiiton. Very much up to date and can be enjoyed instantly. Freshly serviced with fresh fluids, filters, sparkplugs and valve adjustment.
