The 190 SL was the brainchild of the American importer of Mercedes-Benz.
Similar in appearance to the 300 SL, but less complex and less expensive, the 190 SL offered a sporty character without racing pretensions.Using proven mechanical components, the 190 SL was powered by a 1.9-liter SOHC four-cylinder engine with twin Solex carburetors.
The 190 SL made its debut at Geneva in March 1955. By the time production ended in 1963, 25,881 examples had been built.
